I'm excited to announce that my associate photographer Lauren, who photographs almost all of my weddings with me, is now available to book for portrait sessions. Read more about Lauren, her work and how we met here.
Since I am expecting a baby this month (March 2017) and will be on maternity leave from shooting until this May, this is a great opportunity to get Spring family portraits before the Summer heat comes. I will be handling the booking and photo editing, so reach out to me through the contact page or at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your Spring portrait session with Lauren.
Here is a recent family photo session shot by Lauren that I absolutely love. Her natural, effortless style blends well with mine and she is so great with kids. I can't wait for her to photograph my little family when our son arrives!
What is your approach to photographing families?
"Photographing families is so much more than documenting what everyone looks like at a certain point in time. Family dynamics are ever-changing, and my challenge is to help everyone relax so that each person’s personality and their unique interpersonal relationships can shine through. My approach is less posed and more photojournalistic. I want to be a fly on the wall, for people to forget I’m there and to be themselves. Some of my favorite photos I’ve taken have been completely undirected and capture a natural fluidity I could never orchestrate." -Lauren
