Q. When and how did you two meet?
A.Travis and I met at military training in May 2008 in Alabama when we were sophomores in college. Travis was attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville at the time, and I was attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. I had a huge crush on him and all the boys teased him about it. I shyly asked him to be my partner for the Obstacle Course and was thrilled when he said yes! We kept in contact over the years but the timing never worked out. And then we went on a casual date in December 2010... which lead to going together to a New Years party and our first kiss :) We officially started dating on the 4th of July 2011.
Q. When and how did you get engaged?
A. I had been suspecting a proposal for 7 months and decided to stop hoping and give up on it. Then, 2 months later, I ended up in Charleston for a night during my military move. We went out to lunch and then a beautiful walk through a park on the water. Long story short: Travis stopped to look at a fountain and I kept walking. For a second I thought "Is this it?" Then scolded myself for being so silly! I turned around to see what it was about the fountain he liked and the next thing I know he's on one knee proposing. I never thought I'd even tear up but I ended up full on bawling! I cried so much he thought I was against the idea which made him nervous and he forgot his whole speech. Turns out he had a photographer capture the whole thing and then take us out on a photo shoot. April 9th 2013 was the best day ever!
Q. What do each of you do for a living?
A. Both of us are pilots for the US Air Force. We both fly C-17s. We are stationed separately but are moving together next month. We cant wait!!!
Q. What do you enjoy doing when you have time off? What are some of your hobbies, individual and together?
A. When we have time off, we love to visit each other! Chantal loves running, baking, drinking coffee, singing, organizing, and learning new things. Travis' hobbies include anything flying related, reading, working out, and listening to the news. Together we enjoy running, learning to cook, traveling and site-seeing, going to Disney, watching our church webcast and having coffee.
